It’s December again
and we are to celebrate the birth of Christ But what is the meaning
of Christmas? Christmas is an annual commemoration of the birth of
Jesus Christ and a widely observed holiday, celebrated generally on December 25
by millions of people around the world. A feast central to the
Christian liturgical year, it closes the Advent season and initiates the
twelve days of Christmastide, which ends after the twelfth night.Christmas is a
civil holiday in many of the world's nations, is celebrated by an increasing
number of non-Christians, and is an integral part of the Christmas and holiday
season.
Now Christmas-time was
always a time of rejoicing among many heathen nations, and long before the Lord
Jesus Christ came. It is also the day of sharing and loving. In the preparation
to Christmas we make delicious foods and decorating our homes.
My Christmas this year
is very happy because I am with my family and we enjoy talking to
each other about our lives. My family went to church during the celebration of
the birth of Christ. We went to the beach and to my other siblings.
Next year I am hoping
for a better Christmas again and a happier one.
